An obsession with sound textures, funk and deep bass frequencies has shaped the character of this producer's musical style.
Dlay (Dominic Ahtuam) has been producing for five years and DJing for twice as long and over this time he has collaborated with two other Soapsud City artists; with Justin Berman as Sketchybeats; and with Ketsa as Untying The Knots. These pursuits and a passion for ecclectic musical style have ultimately led him to Soapsud City.
Expect deep-jakin-minimal house, electro, idm, blues and even grunge influences which all shine through tight electronic terrain to create a sonal experience that is both intelligent and dance floor.
The prolific Dlay follows up his critcally acclaimed 'Vacant' album on Soapsud City, with his third full length solo release, 'Low Winter Sun' on End Daze Recordings. With glimmering acclaim for his music coming from such prestigious people as Kris Needs, Laurent Garnier, Clash and Q magazines plus many more, Dlay once again delivers the goods with nine highly infectious electronica classics. From the dark musterings of 'Doubt' to the sublime beauty of 'Forest Spirit,' this is no doubt his most powerful body of music to date.

Vacant the new album from Dlay is out now.
Running off the back of his successful "Dance with your eyes closed" e.p. and his Sud Up & Dance releases gaining support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Shelley Parker and Dan Curtin to name a few, dlay dips his multi talented toes back into the realms of downtempo electronica for his 2nd solo album. Different style but unmistakably dlay, he effortlessly blends his influences into his unique sound. From the melancholic beauty of 'Take another look' to the trip hop laced styling of '2nd Movement' through to the glitchy bass of 'Safe distance'. Vacant marks a continued chapter of musical growth for this talented artist. When dlay isn't in the studio he's busy playing out for Peg & guest slots on Sunrise radio for the Underground dance show.
Keep your eyes open for the Low Winter Sun and more in the new year.
